When times change and an aristocratic family loses their centre, their income, and their most beloved 7-yr-old son, the ground on which they live begins to shift, whether they are ready for change or not. The family is a microcosm for the state, and we watch those in denial freeze just as we watch those who are hungry strive to take over.

This folk/pop musical adaptation of Chekhov’s play is relevant to us now more than ever: we watch the nation fall to its knees by a terrible family tragedy, right in the middle of a credit crunch.
